Close Elbow shipping
I only needed 1 elbow but ordered 2 just in case I made some mistake installing it.
This turned out to be a wise move as one of the elbows was smashed on arrival in the shipping case. As return shipping would have cost more than the item I simply discarded the smashed one.
The one I did install worked very well and I was most pleased with the outcome as I can now push my dryer closer to the wall and close the doors that hide the washer/dryer.
Whirlpool 4396006RW Venting Close Elbow
The Whirlpool 4396006RW Venting Close Elbow is a very simple item. It is constructed of aluminum and is very easy to install with a couple of 4 1/2" hose clamps. It allows you to set your dryer as close to the wall as you are going to get it. It also allows my dryer vent hose a straight shot to the through-the-wall dryer vent without any bends or crimps. That's got to be a good thing. Thumbs up!!!
solved my problem
Installing dryer exhaust pipes is a thankless business and I've been frustrated with attempts to bend flexible pipes at 90 degrees. This solved it neatly and used way less space, too. It's quieter to boot with less lint build-up.
